How you can help.
The Same Page Foundation is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us spread the love of reading amongst the children we serve. In order for us to have the greatest impact on the lives of these kids, we need as many volunteers as possible to come and read with them on a regular basis. As such, Same Page is willing to work with anyone who is interested in helping out. All that we ask in return is that our volunteers bring a positive attitude and an eagerness for reading. Obviously, the safety and well-being of the children we serve is our top priority, and as such, all prospective volunteers must complete the application process before they can start volunteering with Same Page.
How to apply.
The application process is simple. All applicants must complete the Volunteer Application, included in the link below, and consent to a background check, which will be conducted by a third-party service. (Note: if the applicant has had a background check conducted within the last twelve months and is able to have those results provided to Same Page, they can forgo our background check process.) In addition to the volunteer application, all applicants under the age of eighteen must complete the Emergency Medical form and Transportation Release form. Finally, if the applicant does NOT wish to have their photo taken and potentially used by Same Page in marketing materials, social media, etc., they may complete the Revocation of Consent to Release Photo form, included in the link below. All completed forms must be returned to Same Page electronically or via mail, according to the instructions provided in the application.
Before you apply.
There are just a couple of things that you should be aware of before you decide whether or not this opportunity is the right fit for you. First, the Same Page Foundation is partnered with the Liberty Community Center in Delaware, Ohio, and all of our reading sessions are currently conducted at the center. The Same Page Foundation is not currently able to provide transportation for its volunteers. As such, all applicants must be willing and able to transport themselves to and from the center. Second, our reading sessions are conducted during the week, from 3:15 – 4:30 PM. Due to the LCC’s curriculum and schedule, Same Page is not able to accommodate for volunteers to visit the center at other times during the day. Please determine whether or not these times are compatible with your schedule.
Thank you in advance for helping Same Page to achieve its goal of spreading the love of reading and providing critical development and growth opportunities for the children in our community. We look forward to working with you!
